Community

Tortworth is a beautiful area; surrounded by fields, farmland and the historic Tortworth Estate.  Our school is actually situated on Estate land and the school has strong links with it.  Children have visited the milking parlour, learnt about forestry and falconry and about how modern farming has developed.  The estate is represented on our governing body too.

 We are very close to Tortworth Court Hotel, a beautiful gothic mansion.  The management team there is keen to encourage links with us, so we intend to visit the hotel to stimulate exciting creative writing and to sketch the beautiful buildings and gardens.

The Tortworth Farm Shop is a short walk across the fields for us.  The staff there have put on displays for our children and have helped in so many ways to learn about where our food comes from locally.
